Exception is an innovate digital solutions company transforming organisations to improve services, reduce costs and to modernise, digitally. We work across a range of sectors including financial services and central government, and our clients include some of the leading UK banks and prominent public sector organisations.
Our Team in Bristol is currently expanding to meet the demand of our clients to drive business change, whilst undergoing a large-scale digital transformation programme.
The successful Project Manager will have the opportunity to work closely with one of our clients to deliver business and digital transformation initiatives across multiple sites, benefiting approximately 2200 end users and more.  You will be one of many Project Managers working closely together with: IT PMO, a team of Business Analysts and Service Designers, and a team of Architects to drive positive change under the Delivery Function.  You will have exposure to senior management and executive leadership team when managing your portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure project scope and objectives have been defined and approved by the project sponsor
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan. 
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Budget based on the scope of work and resource requirements, and track project costs to meet budget.
  • Develop project documentation throughout the project lifecycle to ensure PMO governance compliance.
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress across all levels of the organisation.
  • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables.
  • Apply industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution.
  • Execute and deliver results against complex technical, logistical, commercial, and cultural challenges.
Skills and Responsibility
  • Project Management certifications e.g. PRINCE2 or Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Experience in delivering projects under waterfall and agile frameworks
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Excellent commercial acumen - ability to align business requirements with technical solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good business stakeholder engagement across multiple management levels, managing requirements, expectations, objectives & relationships.
  • Experience of working on large-scale transformations within business-critical environments
  • Have worked in an IT service management environment; experience within technical consultancy and/or service delivery organisations.
