Due to continued growth we need to make the key hire of a Head of Programme and Project Management.
Responsibilities and Objectives

Deliver the Exception strategy for developing the Programme and Project Management capability to support all client requirements.

Lead on the recruitment and selection of the team ensuring a high calibre of candidates.

Develop career paths for all levels of project management and coach employees through them.

Collaborate with Account teams to scope and agree complex, large scale, critical initiatives as well as high level deliverables, ensuring appropriate employees are allocated.

Assess capabilities within the organisation to build business case requirements from proposed initiatives.

Provide leadership for the Programme and Project Management community.

Facilitate collaboration across a range of team members and stakeholders.

Drive consensus on problem prioritisation, relevant solutions and approaches used.

Ensure clear communications and consistent reporting across stakeholders at all levels.

Regularly lead complex and/or critical consultative engagements, normally to Senior Management level.

Deliver work that meets agreed customer requirements with no customer complaints.

Ensure that there are no rejected deliverables as part of the delivery process.
Experience
-
Wide range of experience of managing Transformation Programmes and Delivery Projects across a range of Digital delivery domains (applications, infra, data, security). Good all-rounder, that shows can work with different Project Lifecycle communities (BAs, Service Design/Business Change, SMEs, architects, developers, engineers, testers etc etc)

Previous experience of setting PM standards or establishing a PMO.

Experience across a diverse set of sectors. Public and Private Sector.

Experience of a range of PM methodologies (Agile, SAFe, Waterfall). Needs to understand different approaches and how to deal with them.

Good communicator and motivator, able to lead a team and more importantly work with Stakeholders both internally and externally.

Experienced in Transformation programmes that drive Business Change. Other tools such as Lean would be a bonus.

Good commercial experience. Will likely have to deal with finances and 3rd party suppliers well and manage budgets and risk.

Experience of Line Management (preferable). May have to work with other strong characters, so needs to be able to handle it.
